Theme: Developing a Road Map for Grid Parity by 2022
Normally Grid parity is the point at which photovoltaic electricity is equal to or cheaper than electricity from grid. Our (JNNSM) aim is achieving grid parity by 2022 and parity with coal-based thermal power by 2030.
Achieving 'Grid Parity' is purely 'economies of scale' aided by superior technology. But a minimum infrastructure needs to be there before achieving scale economies. And for that we need:
- land
- water (for Solar Thermals)
- smooth allocation of licence/permission
- concrete division between grid and off grid solar power
- availability of finance
- sustainable subsidies
The Panel discussion on the second day of SOLAR 2010 Conference will highlight the Current Scenario, Financing & Investment opportunities, role of developers and Govt. commitment, best use of technology and manufacturing standards & solutions in India to achieve Grid Parity by 2022.
