Mr. B. Venkateswara Rao is working as General Manager with Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) for the last 14 years. He was handling project financing in Solar Energy and Bio Energy Sectors which includes Project Appraisal, Sanction & Disbursements and Monitoring of Project Implementation etc. He was also associated and dealing with Business Development, Co-ordination with International Agencies for International Finance, Consultancy Development, Networking with National & International Organizations, ISO activities and Computerization at IREDA etc..

Prior to joining IREDA, he was working as Senior Consultant with A.P. Industrial and Technical Consultancy Organization (APITCO), Hyderabad for six years, providing consultancy in Energy Efficiency and Conservation to various industrial units. He was also involved in general project consultancy, EDP Program etc. He worked with Best & Crompton Engineering Pvt. Ltd., Chennai as a Senior Engineer for 6 years and established a separate Solar Energy Division, engaging in manufacturing of Solar Energy Systems and Energy auditing/ Consultancy activities etc. He started his career with M/s Tata Electric Co., Mumbai, worked as Senior Engineer in Trombay Thermal Power Station. He obtained his Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT, Mumbai and MBA from Institute of Public Enterprise, Osmania University, Hyderabad. He has put up overall 26 years experience in Renewable Energy field including manufacturing, Project Consultancy, Project Financing, Policy Planning etc.
