Mr. Donovan is a career diplomat and is the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi's energy policy coordinator. In his prior assignments, Mr. Donovan served in Malaysia, Washington, DC, Italy, and Guatemala. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Mr. Donovan managed a consulting business in California dedicated to the commercialization of advanced transportation technologies. He holds a Master of Science degree in International Political Economy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Haverford College. In 1988 and 1989, Mr. Donovan was a Guest Scholar at the University of Poona, where he designed an interdisciplinary graduate seminar funded by the University Grants Commission of India and subsequently continued by the University. Mr. Donovan is married to Dr. Clarissa Adamson.
