Mr. Mahendra Swarup joined IVCA board as its President last year. IVCA under his stewardship has become a truly representative body of the PE/VC firms in India and has recently become larger with the merger of Global India Venture Capital Association based in Silicon Valley. Mahendra has got vast knowledge and experience in both the corporate and investment sectors. He has held senior corporate positions in major organisations such as ACC, Nestle, Sun Breweries, PepsiCo India, Times of India Group, etc. He was last the head of Private Treaties Investments of Times of India Group.

Most recently, he has been a "Strategic Insight Provider" to established companies and to start ups alike and has been mentoring and incubating early and mid stage ventures He is also on the Board of several companies. He is an MBA from Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi. Mahendra has been active in several professional organizations such as the All India Management Association (AIMA), PHD Chamber of Commerce, President of the Delhi Management Association, Employers Federation of India and Founding Vice Chairman of The Internet and Mobile Association of India. He is associated with several Academic Institutions and serves on the Governing Councils of some well known Business Schools. He was nominated to the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi by the President of India.

Mahendra has also served some key Sub Committees appointed by the Government of India and also other Industry Bodies like CII and FICCI.
