Nav fell in love with solar energy much before he joined his electrical engineering in 1980. During and after his masters in energy systems he designed and developed solar PV VVVF submersible pump inverter, followed by other solar power electronics viz 3 stage charge controllers and battery based inverters with laminated transformers and ferrite cores. His strengths and passion have been in system engineering and projects, such as PV pumping, vaccination, lighting, and other PV grid tie and battery based systems; solar thermal refrigeration and hybrid & wind turbines (small and grid tie).

With a European MBA, Nav is adept in starting and building new ventures. He has been instrumental in creating more than a dozen new businesses / profit centers as Business Units in the organizations he worked for. Business diversification, strategy, technical analysis, project feasibility tasks have led to successful acquisition, vertical/horizontal integration, divestment etc. of various energy/engineering businesses. He was earlier consultant to Greenpeace, and appointed as Fellow at Salzburg Global Seminar institute in Dec. 2008 in the subject of Energy. He is a Certified Trainer for GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment). He is also a certified installer for small and large 3 phase commercial grid tie inverters and was trained at SMA and Xantrex. Nav is CEO of Shurjo Energy Pvt. Ltd.
